EARTH HOUR 2011

"“Earth Hour 2011” will take place in Hawai’i on Saturday, March 26, from 8:30-9:30 p.m. (local time.)  The “World Wildlife Fund” is coordinating this event to bring awareness to energy conservation and the sustainability of our environment, acknowledging that we can all take small steps together to make a positive impact on our world.  During “Earth Hour,” participants are asked to  unplug all non-essential lights and other appliances from 8:30-9:30 p.m. (local time.) During “Earth Hour,” great monuments around the world will also go dark for this event, including the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Birds Nest in Beijing, Golden Gate Bridge, the Roman Coliseum, and the Great Pyramids at Giza (even the Las Vegas Strip shuts down most of its lights!)  State and local government should lead by example, please consider participating in this conservation event.

If you'd like more information, please visit http://www.earthhour.org/.  State and local government can register to show their support and post what they are doing to pitch in."
