Electrical Upgrades for Schools in Hawaii-

The request of allotments of $1,300,00 in design funds, $13,569,00 in construction funds and $130,000 in works of arts funds for the State Foundation on Culture and Arts.  The total cost of this project is estimated to be $14,999,000.

This project will involve the design and construction for electrical upgrades at various schools, statewide, including improvements at Waianae and Nanakuli Complex Area schools, Moanalua ES, and Campbell High School.  The work includes but is not limited to, transformer and panel upgrades, trenching, and additional or replacement electrical outlets.

This project is needed to provide the school campuses with ample power infrastracture.

If the funds are not released, the schools will not be able to complete the electrical upgrades resulting in classrooms and other facilities without adequate electrical connections or power.

A number of schools will receive additional funding to complete ongoing electrical upgrade projects, including, but not limited to Moanalua Elementary School (ES), Makaha ES, and Campbell High School (HS), Oahu.

This project is planned to include work at, but not limited to, the following schools as funding permits: Waianae ES, WAianae Intermediate School, Waianae HS, Leihoku ES, Maili ES, and Nanakuli ES.

The projects may be batches to two or three consultants and bid in packages to save on repetitive design documents and to better coordinate work at schools.

The Governors Administration is releasing Capitol Improvement Project funds for work on the following:

- Maili Elementary School:
Electrical Upgrades (Allotment Advice No. 11-0171)
-Nanakuli Elementary School:

Electrical Upgrades (Allotment Advice No. 11-0171)

In his letter he states that he understands how important these projects are to the people Representative Awana Serves in her District.  He looks forward to working with Representative Awana on these upcoming projects.
